Sustainable COnstruction REsearch Group
Sustainable COnstruction REsearch group, abbreviated as SCORE, is the brainchild of Prof. Sandeep Chaudhary. SCORE recognizes the need for sustainability in the construction industry and has been actively working towards achieving the same. SCORE is a multi-disciplinary research group with members and collaborations across different countries from both industry and academia.
Prof. Sandeep Chaudhary is currently serving as Professor (HAG) in the Department of Civil Engineering and Dean of Administration at IIT Indore. His research group conducts cutting-edge research in structural engineering, concrete technology, and sustainable development, focusing on innovative solutions such as steel-concrete composite structures and sustainable use of waste materials in construction. His work has significantly advanced the field, as evidenced by his more than 115 research papers in SCI/SCI(E) journals and fourteen sponsored research Projects as Principal Investigator. He has recently published a book on Concrete Technology with McGraw-Hill publications.
Key achievements include IIT Indore's first technology transfer, which has been listed among the top forty technologies published by IIT Madras in the coffee table book Prabhav. Prof. Chaudhary is on several committees of the Bureau of Indian Standards and the Asian Concrete Federation and has several international collaborations, including joint research projects and academic exchanges. The Government of the Russian Federation recently invited him to develop a world-class research lab at NPI, Russia, as part of the Mega Grant scheme.
Prof. Chaudhary's mission is deeply rooted in addressing global challenges through sustainable engineering practices.

SCORE has recently expanded its scope of work to focus on rural development. This is in light of the fact that two-third of the population in India resides in villages. As a part of rural development SCORE is also working towards livelihood creation, clean energy and sanitation.
SCORE aligns with the United Nations Sustainability Development Goals (SDG), with a keen focus towards:

A cost-effective architectural brick developed by upcycling dimensional stone wastes. This was the first technology transferred to the industry from SCORE.
A special class of light-weight brick developed by using cow dung as a foaming agent. This innovation has received several awards and accolades for its sustainable approach.
We have an expanding network of research collaborations across the globe.
